Collection Program

Bulky and Metallic Collection

Each solid waste customer whose account is in good standing with GSWA can call 646-3111 and make an appointment for the pick up of bulky material such as box springs, mattresses, sofas, and metallic items such as hot water heaters, washing machines, and refrigerators. 

Customers may receive up to two (2) free pick-ups per year. Additional pick-ups will cost $25.00 each. During the remaining months of 2011, customers will be limited to one (1) free pick-up.

Under the terms of the Court Order and until compliance with the Consent Decree has been achieved, the Receiver is assuming all of the responsibilities, functions, duties, powers and authority of the Solid Waste Management Division (SWMD) of the Guam Department of Public Works. The Receiver is working with the staff of the SWMD to develop solid waste and recycling programs and services that are economically viable, sustainable over the long term, and beneficial for the citizens of Guam. This solution will include a new, modern landfill, closure of the Ordot Dump, and an improved trash and recycling system consistent with best practices in the waste industry.
